If you’re experiencing issues pairing your camera with the Luna AI app, it may be due to incompatible Wi-Fi settings or weak signal strength. Follow these steps to troubleshoot and successfully pair your camera.
Things to Check
1. Ensure You’re Using a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi Network
Luna cameras are only compatible with 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks and do not support 5GHz networks.
- Verify your network: Check your router settings to confirm you are connecting to the 2.4GHz network.
- Switch networks if needed: If your router broadcasts both 2.4GHz and 5GHz, ensure you select the 2.4GHz option during pairing.
2. Confirm Your Camera is Close Enough to the Router
A weak signal can prevent the camera from pairing successfully.
- Check the distance: Ensure your camera is within 10–15 feet of the router during pairing.
- Test signal strength: Use your phone to check Wi-Fi signal strength at the camera’s location.

1. Move Closer to the Router for Pairing
- Temporarily bring the camera closer to the router.
- Complete the pairing process, then move the camera to its desired location.
2. Reboot Your Router and Camera
Restarting both devices can resolve temporary connectivity issues.
- Router: Turn off your router, wait 30 seconds, and turn it back on.
- Camera: Disconnect your camera from power, wait 30 seconds, and reconnect it.
3. Update the Luna AI App
Ensure you are using the latest version of the Luna AI app to pair the camera.
4. Check Wi-Fi Signal Strength
Poor Wi-Fi signal can cause pairing issues.
- Perform a speed test: Use your phone at the camera’s location (connected to the same Wi-Fi network). The download speed should be at least 10 Mbps. You can test at speedtest.net.

Improve signal strength:
- Move your router to an open, central location.
- Reduce obstructions like walls, mirrors, or large furniture.
- Use a Wi-Fi extender if needed.
5. Reset the Camera for a Fresh Pairing Attempt
If pairing still fails, reset the camera:
- Hold the reset button for 10–15 seconds until the camera prompts with an audio message saying "Resetting camera" followed by "Camera ready to pair"
- Follow the pairing steps in the Luna AI app again.
