Yes, you can use your Luna AI camera at a different location. However, there are a couple of conditions depending on whether you are using the same Wi-Fi network or a new one.
Using the Same Wi-Fi Network
If the new location uses the same Wi-Fi network as the initial setup, you can simply move the camera. However, ensure the following:
- Signal strength: Check that the new location has a strong Wi-Fi signal. Weak signal strength may impact performance or prevent the camera from connecting to the network.
- Test connectivity: After moving, verify that the camera can connect to the app and Live View functions as expected.
Using a New Wi-Fi Network
If you are setting up the camera on a different Wi-Fi network, such as in a new home or location, you’ll need to re-pair the camera to the new network.
Steps to Re-Pair the Camera:
-
Delete the Camera from the App:
- Open the Luna AI app.
- Navigate to Add & Manage Cameras.
- Select Camera Settings for the camera you want to move.If you do not see your camera, it means it has already been removed from your account, and you can proceed to step 2.
- Tap Delete Camera to remove it from the app.
-
Take the Camera to the New Location:
- Ensure the new location has a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network available (Luna cameras are not compatible with 5GHz networks).
-
Begin Pairing at the New Location:
- Open the Luna AI app and go to Add & Manage Cameras.
- Tap on Add Camera button.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to add the camera to the new network.
Additional Tips
- Check Wi-Fi Requirements: The new network should have at least 10 Mbps download speed for optimal performance. Use a speed test (speedtest.net) to verify.
- Restart the Camera if Needed: If the camera doesn’t pair successfully, restart it by unplugging it, waiting 30 seconds, and plugging it back in before attempting the setup again.
